Нельзя точно объяснить, почему надо говорить или писать make a phone call и get ready, а не do a phone call и take ready.

‘Get’ collocations

Так что мы можем все эти действия совершать с get: get a letter получить письмо, get a shock получить шок, get a job получить работу, get some sleep немного поспать, get a grade получить оценку, get tickets купить билеты и многое другое.

  1. Don’t get upset. She soon got bored with the job.
He calmed down as he got older.
Eat your dinner before it gets cold.
